Happened to stumble upon this magnificent restaurant while visiting Siena, Italy the other day… Upon entering, I was greeted by the manager Simone who turns out is the chef/owners son. He was very warm and welcoming. As I sat down at my table the very vibrant and happy waitress handed me the wine list which I must say is fabulous. The menu is a fusion of typical Tuscan food mixed with modern techniques. Plates such as a soup of artichoke puree with a drizzle of dark chocolate, olive oil, and small cubes of extra aged parmiggiano are offered as appetizers. I highly recommend this dish. After, I had a delicious steak which was cooked to perfection. The service was impeccable and the food was amazing!

Upon exiting, I commended Simone on the service, food and wine list. He then asked me If I wanted to tour their underground wine cellar. Wow! It was impressive. Simone was soon blowing dust off bottles of Chateaux Latour, Lafite Rothschild, excellent Brunellos, Chianti Classicos etc… Trip Advisor gives Ristorante PorriOne four and a half stars and I would highly agree with them.

Located on Via Del PorriOne 28. Next time when in Siena, it is a place you must try!
