The Mighty Malbec

Most of you have heard of Malbec wines right? Well, Malbec is actually a grape varietal not a wine name. Here are some tidbits about Malbec.
The Malbec grape is thin skinned and needs a good amount of sun (more so than Cab and Merlot). Originally planted in Bourdeaux, France but a big frost in 1956 killed most of the Bourdeaux Malbec plants. After this devastating frost, a Frenchman brought small Malbec cuttings to Argentina and the grape did immensely well…
