Do you guys know what Austria’s powerhouse white varietal is? Gruner Veltliner which is one of my new white wine favorites and the most planted varietal in Austria… Gruner grows mainly around the Danube River in the Wachau Region. For about $13, the Hugl Weine Gruner is a great bang for your buck! Fresh and fruity with a strong Old World minerality. It has a lemony, light floral nose. On the palate there are hints of lemon, white pepper and green apples… A clean finish and a very food friendly wine!
